Opportunities for Giving
There are many creative ways to make a gift to the Foundation. This site explains the many ways you can contribute.
Memorial/Honor Program is one that enables you to make a gift in memory of a loved one who has passed away or to honor a loved one's birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Many of your friends and family may no longer want to receive gifts. They might prefer to see your gift help others lead a healthier more independent life.
Annual Fund is a campaign that occurs annually to raise money to buy equipment, furniture or furnishings to make our residents' lives more comfortable and enjoyable.
Capital Campaign is a campaign that is held to build or purchase an expensive piece of equipment. This year's capital campaign will focus on finishing the enclosed outside courtyard for the enjoyment of the residents of the Health Center, and to purchase a retractable canopy to cover the large deck in the courtyard.
Endowment - The Health Center needs to be modern, clean and have state of the art equipment available to make our residents' lives more comfortable and independent. With the changes in funding for health care that have occurred in the past few years, this cannot be assured without the Foundation accumulating an endowment that can buy what the Health Center needs in a timely manner. To raise this kind of money we will focus on planned gifts.
Planned Gifts - What are they? They are simply gifts that have been planned for by the donor. They may be as simple as a charitable gift in a will, or as complex as multiple types of trusts. They are an integral part of the planning process for her/his retirement and estate planning.
We can help donors structure gifts that pay them an income for life! Examples are annuities, and various types of trusts. Making a charitable gift as part of this planning process many times will save money on estate taxes, and the taxes that you are paying today. They will give you the opportunity to sell highly appreciated property - for example, publicly traded stocks that may have a very low cost basis but have significantly appreciated in value. We may be able to show you how to make a gift worth many times your initial investment that costs only what you originally paid for the property. You could avoid thousands of dollars in capital gains taxes. Your heirs may realize more dollars than they would have if you had not made that gift, and the gift will make a tremendous difference to the Health Center.
